Shepherd Reaches Out to Others

We dedicate ourselves to helping others in a variety of ways.

Shepherd serves as a collection site for the following non-profit agencies, and, through small group ministries, sponsors activities to assist our community.

To schedule a drop-off appointment, or for information on any of these agencies or about small group ministries in general, please call 303.530.4422.

Donation receipts are provided.

Summer Community Support

This summer we are also participating in these programs/community events:

- New Wine ministry

- Family Fun Day & BBQ for Colorado Haiti Project

- 4K for Cancer

Community Infant Program (CIP)

A program of Boulder County Public Health, the Community Infant Program (CIP) works with high-risk families to promote healthy attachments between parents and infants.

CIP services focus on positive parenting, healthy nutrition and feeding practices, and creating family support systems. Services are provided for a limited number of high-need families with children from birth to three years of age.

Shepherd reaches out to CIP by serving as a collection site for disposable diapers, food & formula, clothes, gear, baby furniture, and strollers.

The congregation also provides a Thanksgiving Food Box collection for CIP clients each year.  As many as 120 complete Thanksgiving food boxes are typically provided to CIP clients each year.

Current Needs:

We always have a need for disposable diapers for these families with young children. Current need is for sizes 1 and 2 especially, but any size is welcome.

Boulder Shelter for the Homeless

Boulder Shelter for the Homeless (BSH) provides safe shelter, food, support services, and an avenue to self-sufficiency for homeless adults in our community.

Shepherd reaches out to BSH by serving as a collection site for a variety of personal items such as toiletries, combs, blankets, socks, etc., as well as general housekeeping supplies. In fall/winter months we focus on jackets, gloves, and other cold-weather gear.

Congregation members serve meals at the Shelter the first and third Tuesdays of each month, 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m., from October through April.  Anyone wishing to assist is invited to call the church office at 303.530.4422 for more details.
